Nextiva Review: Christopher Kiernan

08/28/10

Pros:

The pricing is lower than anything out there that is comparable.

The telephone support department picks up fast and knows what they're talking about each time I dial them.

Cons:

I have not experienced anything negative that I would write to you about.

Other Thoughts:

FYI - Nextiva gives me credit for each time I refer a person to their business but I am writing this because I want to. Nextiva has been perfect for me.

Pros:

Running my phones since 08. Their telephone support line is what's kept me happy with them. They have been helpfull.

Cons:

Their phone prices are too expensive. They sell the Polycom IP550 for $250. While most online retailers sell the IP550 for under $200.

Other Thoughts:

Even though the phones are more expensive when I buy them directly from Nextiva, I do it because they configure each phone which saves me time. If you don't have an issue spending 30 minutes configuring each of your phones one by one, make sure to buy your phones from the cheapest online phone store.

08/07/10

Pros:

Faxing is cheap and their lowest priced plan has met all my needs.

Cons:

Maybe give more pages per month, instead of 500. I used 80 last month. But it would be nice to know I have more pages.

Other Thoughts:

I would highly recommend the fax service for people that are still using fax machines. My efax service for nextiva was ringcentral. Their price was decent but I couldn't stand dealing with their telephone support department when I had billing issues. Nextiva was cheaper but also gives me more pages.

Nextiva Review: Jeff

08/04/10

Pros:

The price is reasonable and in line with other providers. When operational, the voice quality is very good.

Cons:

As of 8/4/2010 the Nextiva service is down. According to customer support it is a system wide problem. Polite SALES agents, RUDE customer service agents. Extensive on-hold times to speak with agents. Extremely poor voicemail audio quality.

Other Thoughts:

Nextiva touts being # 1. I'm not sure who gave Nextiva this title but our business phone system has been marginal at best since switching from ATT CallVantage. With AT&T our phones were rock solid. With Nextiva we never know if the phones will work or not. I have zero confidence in the Nextiva service and for business use the downtime and poor voicemail audio quality have made it necessary to switch services. I would love to call in and cancel right now but there are 26 callers ahead of me. Why are there 26 callers on hold you ask? Because Nextiva's service has been down the entire morning. Nextiva is aware of the problem and offers no solution, asking us to wait and keep trying. The attitude I got from the Nextiva agent is yes, our system is down, deal with it. For a business phone system this type of service, and attitude, is totally unacceptable.

Pros:

Price is the only advantage I can see. Some of their tech people are very nice.

Cons:

Customer Service is all but non existent.

Other Thoughts:

Oh you can reach a level 1 tech but after a year ONLY level 2 people have been able to sollve my issues and the fixes don't last. It took 2 months before the service was moderatly useable and another 2 weeks. I have waited as many as 3 days for a call back to one of these specialists. After about 6 months of 'good' service (poor voice quality, dropped calls) I am now on day 2 again awaiting a callback. I am losing clients daily and no one seems to really care.

Nextiva Review: Kimberley

04/25/10

Pros:

People considering Nextiva should make sure to get voicemail forwarding to email setup. It's the best feature IMO. Tech support is good too.

Cons:

It would be nice if voicemails would be transcribed to text. Right now they are sent via email and sms. But it's still nice to hear the messages from my iphone, since Nextiva includes the attachment.

Cons:

Other Thoughts:

I got my phones from ebay before signing of for voip phone service. After we signed up with Nextiva I was immediately on the phone with their technical service department and they helped me get my phones working with our new numbers in 20 minutes. 04/06/10

Pros:

From the beginning when I contact Nextiva every thing has been perfect. I switched from Cbeyond because they did not deliver on practically anything they said they would. Nextiva has been rock solid.

Cons:

Cbeyond made it a nightmare to transfer my number away from them because of a payment issue. I was able to get the billing dispute resolved once I had my issue escalated to a manager at Cbeyond.

Pros:

They get kudos for kindness. The people in the sales, porting, support have been super nice. The implementation was smooth and I've been a happy camper.

Cons:

I pay 100 each month for the 4 phones. No question it is a great deal when compared to my pricing at Verizon, but I wouldn't mind it to be cheaper.

03/21/10

Pros:

I experienced some challenges getting my phone numbers over to nextiva. It wasn't the fault of nextiva that our numbers did not come over. Support and customer service over the phone has been very helpful. Their email responses to me are fast

Cons:

My first service provider bandwidth.com did not allow me to transfer our numbers out for almost two months because of a contract issue. Once we settled everything I was able to get my numbers to nextiva in a week and everything has been working fine

Other Thoughts:

Now that I use nextiva and no longer deal with bandwidth.com everything is fine and working well.

03/12/10

Pros:

Price plans, Technical phone support and control panel system.

Cons:

Nothing too negative. Luckily.

Other Thoughts:

Being a nextiva customer for 6 months I've had the opportunity to properly evaluate their service. Since getting my service setup I have not needed to call their support team very much, although when I or my IT guy did call they were helpful. It was nice that they had people in the US that knew their product and wouldnt read from a script. I cant stand how every company outsources their key department - customer service. Having the chance to evaluate nextivas service for so long I can say that they are a provider I will continue referring business to.

Nextiva Review: Lubow

03/09/10

Pros:

Low cost. Reasonable voice quality if you have adequate upload throughput like, e.g., Verizon FiOS as your internet provider.

Cons:

If you get antsy when the phone cannot solve a quality issue within 24 hours, then Nextiva is NOT for you. If you are patient, can wait a couple of weeks for minor annoyances to get solved and consider the overall cost savings, Nextiva is OK

Other Thoughts:

Getting back to Cons above... It has taken Nextiva two weeks to put the correct time and date on our phone. After two months, customers receiving calls from us still see in their caller ID "Private" instead of our company name.

I got tired of complaining and just stopped calling support.

Also, as in ANY VoIP solution, you need a quality broadband provider and adequate upload bandwidth. The best is Verizon FiOS. Internet from a cable TV company (like Cablevision) is only adequate if you have only a handful of phones.

Pros:

Found a solution to my earlier posted problems...comvoice www.comvoice.com. Similarly priced to Nextiva but with physical presence in my city. Call quality is as good if not better than my old landline and their Cisco equipment is awesome.

Cons:

Nextiva is okay for a home office, but for brick and mortar operations who need multiple phones and support...try a bigger company.

Nextiva Review: Phone System

02/24/10

Pros:

Service fees. Ease of implementation. Phone Support.

Cons:

Nothing bad has occurred to me so far.

Other Thoughts:

Very glad that I found Nextiva for our phone system. I bought Polycom phones from www.telephonydepot.com and then got Nextiva's phone support to help me set them up. From start to finish it took me about 30 minutes to get everything working and setup. Since my first call to support I have called a few times to get help with my voicemail message and automated system greeting/ tech support has always been prompt and helpful. Nextiva has been a great choice as the entire process and experience has been delightful.

Cons:

Other Thoughts:

I got a pbx plan that operates online for me. I've placed the toll free number I've got from them on my website and I havent been able to prove that its totally improved incoming phone call rates but I really like the fact that their is a 800 number associated with my site.

Nextiva Review: @ShaunLi

02/08/10

Pros:

The service with Nextiva has been stellar. I'm more than happy. Overjoyed

Cons:

null = nothing bad about the process

Other Thoughts:

For the sake of doing it right I setup VOIP service with four of companies around the same time - Nextiva, 8x8, Vocalocity and Ringcentral and let the best provider win. Being a sales guy myself, I did not want to be sold and figured it's only right if I give each company a legit shot. Clearly with me writing this you know who won. Without skipping around I'll put it like this, Nextiva had the best customer service, online user interface and they just make me feel good.
Pretty much every company met me at the same point when it came down to price. The only catch out of the four companies was that 8x8 wanted a contract if I decided to stay with them. Features they all were pretty much the same when it came to what I was looking for and the quality of the calls was good across the board. Since I'm not super technical but have some experience, I wanted to see who would guide me the best support when it came to the overall setup of service. Nextiva's ppl had it down, they were a pleasure to work with and super patient. I can't say the same about the others. Ringcentral's support was not close to what the sales guy told me and trying to cancel my account with them was a pain. Literally. I was told by two different ppl I'd get a cancel email shortly, but it took a total of three calls to actually make the cancellation happen.

One thing that sealed the deal with Nextiva was that they kept in close contact with me on twitter. I said it earlier and the twitter situation is a good example about how I feel good using Nextiva. They got it down well and if you need phone service choose Nextiva. If you are thinking about using VOIP, do it. I travel all the time and taking my phone from city to city is great. Nextiva Review: My Time Using Nextiva

02/07/10

Pros:

Configuration options and features, service call quality, price, and customer/technical support.

Cons:

None - the service has been stellar

Other Thoughts:

Cutting costs was what kicked off our move to voip. The cost benefits have been great from the start but I've been more impressed with the configuration options and features. It's helped us a lot to have the answering auto attendant play different messages, depending on the day of week and time.

I did have a concern that the phone service was not going to be as reliable as what we used before, but that hasn't been the case. We haven't had any reliability challenges or dropped calls. In fact the calls sound the same.

Nextiva Review: Tve

01/30/10

Pros:

Love the features on my phone, VOIP brings big business phone features to a small one line business.

Cons:

Unreliable service, poor voice quality on 50% of calls, lost voicemails, clients sometimes say that when they dial the number the call does not go through, when I dial out sometimes call does not connect or there is no ringing.

Other Thoughts:

Conclusion: I spend a lot of time on the phone in my business, about 3 hours of connect time a day. I have had VOIP with nextiva for my SOHO business for one year, I think that is an adequate amount of time to take the VOIP technology and nextiva for a test drive, I will be switching back to a traditional land line for a few reasons listed here: the rates have gotten more competitive (especially with business DSL bundles from ATT) and you just cant beat the voice quality and reliability of the service. I think I'll try VOIP again but it wont be with nextive and I'll wait for the the technology to improve.

01/29/10

Pros:

Good at Marketing. Price is better than most.
BUT, you get what you pay for........

Cons:

It is 7:24pm EST. The nextiva ENTIRE phone network is down (AGAIN). It has been down since at least 4:00 pm. I guess they have no Disiaster recovery plan. We're moving to another vendor. No phones = loss of business and clients

Other Thoughts:

If a service provider can't support themselves properly to keep track of their software development, proper testing, customer notification, backup or backout plan when the software has failed, do to improper testing or when Management pushes the deadline which forces the developers to cut corners the results will be more often poor quality software. And, unfortunately the customer base will take the biggest hit during these failures. I strongly urge you to question the VOIP providers. Do they have a mirrored system. Do they schedule upgrades when it is convenvient for customers or themselves. How long do they consider downtime before switching to their backup system (If they have one). I am disappointed in their rollout of upgrades and fixes. They seem Not to think through the entire process.

If I were administration I would seriously consider retrainning or replacing, because you are losing trust in your customer base. And it is your customer base which is losing money do to your lack of professionalism

Pros:

Thought it was a good price until i realize you get what you pay for !

Cons:

Their product is UNRELIABLE. As a business, I need better than this. Their support team (even supervisors) do not know how to actually fix what should be simple fixes.

Other Thoughts:

If you're thinking of Nextiva as your new VOIP....forget about it ! Run the other way ! They're UNRELIABLE. They have tech support but they can't seem to quickly fix such simple things as my MISPELLED name on the account and caller ID, the lack of incoming caller ID....and don't get me started on the voice quality, and more. I've had the service for 3 months and it's been a headache since DAY 1. They require prepaying for the year. Don't do it. If their product and customer service are what they are, they won't be around in 12 months. I miss my AT&T Callvantage. I had them for 4+ years and never an issue. Too bad they never promoted the product. They definately would have been #1 when it comes to VOIP.

09/10/09

Pros:

They have very good price, quality is average (probably ok.)

Cons:

Other than charging on the credit card, I do not know what they are good for.

Other Thoughts:

Nextiva acts like a company that has been on business 2 or 3 days only. Read my story: I requested a phone number to a nextiva rep, of course they charge my credit card inmediatly and opened my account with my new number. I decided to buy the adapter in a web. Four weeks later when i got the addapter called Nextiva costomer service to activate the number I was paying for. Surprised It was not possible (was a non working number), the number had to be change for a good one. I requested a credit, at the time the rep agree with that, 5 weeks later I am still waiting for it.
Second issue: For about a month I have two business lines with Embarq (very expensive service). I requested to port the two numbers to work with nextiva (I got 42 dolars charge up front). Later I was notifyed It was not possible because do not have the Embarq invoice yet. Then why they charge for something they are not able to do, againg Nextiva is guiving trouble to reinburse the 42 dollars. Have to open a dispute which is going on now.
Botton line They are good to CHARGE, that is it.

05/04/09

Pros:

I can't think of any thing positive about Nextiva.

Cons:

The call forwarding to cell phone at all times has now become a problem after 2 months of being with Nextiva. I am out of my office quite a bite so the best solution is to have the call forwarding on permanently. I went 3 days with no incoming calls. The work around is to have my desk phone ring then my cell phone. Well the work around is not a solution that I can count on. It is now 7 days with the call forwarding problem. Tech support cannot tell me when the problem for the call forwarding will be fixed. A supervisor was to have called me on the day I called for one. Well no call from a supervisor. Before this problem I was on the phone with tech support a lot just trying to get my phone system features up. I finally got a tech who understood what I was saying to help me. I’m now looking for another VOIP provider. I hate to think of the new customers I have lost.

Nextiva Review: Tony Morales

04/14/09

Pros:

The voice quality is excellent and superior. The price is the cheapest and most affordable.

Cons:

The main problem is it is NOT reliable. When it works, it works great, but too many outages. Additionally, their system is too basic for most businesses, so they use a lot of work arounds that later on make it difficult to troubleshoot.

Other Thoughts:

Tech support is not responsive or proactive. You can put a tech support ticket and no one will inform you if the issue has been fixed or not.

Nextiva Review: Lawrence

Pros:

The price. Service reliability and customer service.

Cons:

Other Thoughts:

My thoughts on Nextiva are that they are a good phone provider and have been great for my business. I don't hesitate to review companies that I have poor experiences with but Nextiva deserves praise. It's been a great transition and their customer service team is friendly. The features that come with my plan are solid. Overall they get my top rating.

Pros:

It is in my opinion that Nextiva is the best thing since slice bread.I am the President of a Recruiting firm with recruiters all over the US, they all work from home.Nextiva allows us all to have one 800 contact number with different extension , so we can maintain legitmacy and organization. The customer service is second to none , the yhave always been helpful even when i have not been very kind.I really recomment that everyone with a business get Nextiva, it is really the BEST thing since slice bread in phone systems.it is also so affordable. Nextiva Review: The Dude

02/16/09

Pros:

Cost

Cons:

Quality, no support, and horrible portal. Its not as easy and GOOD as they say!

Other Thoughts:

Ok... so I just thought I would reflect becuase I am so disgusted right now.I signed up with Nextiva BECAUSE OF THESE REVIEWS! Well... I have now come to realize that the people who are happy with this service do not exist or are just plain idiots.Nextiva is a joke of a provider. I was told no start up costs becuase I could use adapters, plug them into the phones I use now, bam! I would love it! Well the dropped calls I get, the complaints from people who speak to who say I sound horrible, and the frustration I have of NEVER being able to connect with their technical support is UNACCEPTABLE!I should have known! It all just sounded to good to be true. I guess thats what I get for going for the lowest cost carrier... but damn! I dont even know how they keep any customers.

Nextiva Review: Kalix Nix

Pros:

Cons:

I just switched over to Nextiva from Vocalocity (I woulod say that Nextiva is much better than Vocalocity but this is an industry that really needs a good culling....I am be no means a tech person - for the most part I gather more useless information then ever before and bought into the concept that I need all of this info. I really like nextiva so far just have issues with their service dept, I have a small business (3 employees) and just wanted to replace my "telephone company" competition is alwasy good for the consumer...each time I call the customer service dept to have my phones set up that all phones ring and if no one answers it goes to voicemail. Unfortunatly, there is really only one person that I've spoken to that gets it...and does not try and change the way we do things here. Each of the other service people tend to not listen to my issue and just automatically tries to "fix" things that really causes more problems for good. Nextiva has no concept of the value of my time - we have easily lost any sort of savings that we intended to have by switching to Nextiva just through my time waiting on the phone for service or trying to fix this stuff. I hope that this company understands that service counts not so much price....get it together and they will have a supperior product and name.
Just like this review board....there is enough crap to send someone to the moon as far as bold, paste from word even insert a freek'n smiley face...but put something useful on this like "spell check". what's wrong with these people!!!!If most of us new how to use all of this crap we wouldn't need the phone company in the first place....just stupid!I also just noticed that the ratings that I complete and the ones that are shown to the public are different.
